Dr Funeka Ngcakani-Mbada

Dr Funeka Ngcakani-Mbada founded OccuSmart in 2014. She is an occupational health practitioner with qualifications in medicine, occupational health and microbiology.
Her work includes workplace health-risk assessment, medical surveillance, primary healthcare and employee wellness. OccuSmart supports employers and employees with care shaped around workplace exposures and individual needs.

Occupational health focuses on people’s physical, mental and social wellbeing at work. It considers how work can affect health and how health can affect someone’s working life.
Occupational safety focuses on preventing workplace injuries and reducing exposure to hazards. Together, these fields support healthier working conditions, prevention and practical workplace support.
