CEREC is a digital workflow used to design and manufacture selected ceramic restorations, including crowns, inlays and onlays. It brings scanning and computer-assisted design into treatment planning.
How the digital workflow works
- A digital scan records the prepared tooth and surrounding teeth.
- A restoration is designed using a three-dimensional model.
- The ceramic restoration is manufactured and finished.
- Your dentist checks its fit, bite and appearance before placement.
Could treatment take one visit?
Some suitable restorations can be made and fitted during one appointment when the necessary facilities are available. This is not appropriate for every tooth or every treatment plan.
Discuss your options
Ask whether a CEREC restoration is suitable for your tooth. The Eastway team will confirm the available equipment, materials and appointment arrangements before treatment. Existing fillings are assessed on their condition and your clinical needs.
Your dentist will explain suitable options, alternatives and the proposed next steps before treatment.
