Professional whitening aims to lighten the shade of natural teeth. Start with a dental assessment to check your teeth and gums and discuss the result you would like to achieve.
In-practice and home options
In-practice systems such as Philips Zoom! and custom home-whitening trays offer different approaches. The team can discuss the options available at Eastway, how each is used and what follow-up may be needed.
What to consider
- Whitening affects natural teeth; crowns, veneers and fillings do not whiten in the same way.
- Sensitivity or gum irritation can occur.
- Results, treatment time and maintenance needs differ between patients.
- Your dental health and medical history help determine whether whitening is suitable.
Keeping your result
Follow the instructions provided for your chosen treatment and continue your usual oral hygiene and review appointments. Discuss any discomfort with your dental professional.
Your dentist will explain suitable options, alternatives and the proposed next steps before treatment.
